Carers Partnership Board Representatives
We have recently completed a review of the Carers Partnership Board and are in the process of re-organising its membership to ensure its future success. We want the Board to be more representative and to have the capacity to effect change more broadly.
This has resulted in the need to elect 3 representatives from Voluntary Sector Organisations who will lead the sector’s input on the Board.
Requirements
The elected representatives will:-
- be employees at a senior level within their voluntary organisation or trustees and will be expected to attend the Carers Partnership Board every 2/3 months. Meetings last about 2 hours;
- be able to represent the rights and needs of carers who are caring for adults.
- able to demonstrate a track record of delivering improvements in people lives;
- be able to represent the views of the wider voluntary sector;
- be prepared to carry out tasks on behalf of the Board or participate in sub-groups.
HAVS has been asked to support Harrow Council in managing the election process on behalf of the Carers Partnership Board.
Each Organisation can only nominate one representative.
If more than 3 nominations are received Voluntary Organisations will be invited to vote for their chosen voluntary sector representative.
The membership of the Board is reviewed on an annual basis.
Process
11th May 2010 Papers seeking Nominations will be sent out via HAVS mail-out and on their website.
30th June 2010 Closing date for return of completed Nomination Forms.
W/C 5th July If more than 3 Nominations are received, ballot papers will be sent out via HAVS mail-out and on website.
3rd Sept 2010 Closing date for return of ballot papers.
6th Sept 2010 Count takes place and all candidates informed.
Thereafter results will be placed on websites, posted in community buildings and in the next HAVS mail-out.
