Harrow Housing Advice & Options Forum

 

2pm 23rd March 2010,Churchill Place (near Civic Centre),Harrow

The council’s Housing Needs Service would like to establish a partnership Forum with local voluntary sector advice and support agencies.   We would like to foster closer working on issues of housing advice, housing options and homelessness prevention with all agencies in the borough that provide advocacy and information for people with housing problems. 

 We are proposing an inaugural meeting to be held on 23rd March, and would like to invite you to send a delegate, if your agency provides advice or advocacy on housing matters.

 Provisional Agenda

 Review of Housing Allocation Scheme.

Following a recent court case and a new Code of Guidance on Allocations, the council is reviewing priorities for allocation of Council and Housing Association properties (through Locata).  The amount of accommodation available for letting is limited and far less than the current demand.  So we are seeking views at present on priorities, before drafting the new scheme.

Establishing the Housing Advice & Options Forum.   Discuss and develop the role and structure for the forum, Terms of Reference etc
