Harrow LGBT Forum

The Harrow Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT)Forum will provides a local focus to LGBT issues in the borough, while at the same time learning from and gaining expertise of the already established West London LGBT Forum. This will involve forum members sharing ideas and expertise ensuring that it reflects the breadth of needs and interests of all partners working on LGBT issues for the communities they serve in the borough.

The work of the Forum will initially be coordinated by the LGBT Development Worker and HAVS (this will need to be confirmed). Given time and extra funding, it is envisaged the Forum will manage its own affairs and become self directing.

The aim of the Harrow LGBT Forum is:

To increase LGBT engagement in Harrow by:

  • Sharing best practice
  • Identifying gaps in provision
  • Influencing LGBT policy development and service provision

 Longer term:

  • Longer- term we envisage the forum will:
  • Become self sustaining
  • Enabling members to access more funding as partnerships
  • Help local organisations develop their services to be inclusive of LGBT residents
