Harrow Voluntary and Community Sector Consortium

The Harrow Consortium is a variety of Voluntary and Community Organisations (VCO's) who will work in partnership to ensure that the needs of the community are provided for. 

The Harrow Consortium’s prime focus will be on building the capacity of the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) to deliver the services the community needs.

Age Concern Harrow
Age Concern Harrow exists to promote the well being of all older people in the London Borough of Harrow and to help make life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.

Alzheimer’s Society 
The Alzheimers Society provide of advice, support and information to persons with dementia and their carers.

BTWSC (Beyond The Will Smith Challenge)
BTWSC develops potential of individuals, raising their aspirations and promotes social inclusion.

Choices 4 All
Choices 4 All is a training provider for individuals who have learning difficulties and who need a training approach to be responsive to their learning style and access needs.

Community Link Up
Community Link up provides support to a wide range of people of all ages to empower people with learning disabilities.

Harrow Association for Disabled People (HAD)
HAD is an equality organisation whose aim is to create a world where disabled people have equality of opportunity as a right not a privilege. To this end we provide a wide range of services, training, awareness raising and campaigning activities.

Harrow Association of Somali Voluntary Organisations (HASVO)
HASVO is the Centre for the Somali Community in Harrow and aims to strengthen the links between all community groups within Harrow.

Harrow Association of Voluntary Services (HAVS)
HAVS aims to support, develop, promote and represent voluntary and community organisations in Harrow.

Harrow Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
CAB offers advice and information to people living or working in Harrow.

Harrow Mencap
Harrow Mencap’s purpose is to work with, and to represent, people with learning disabilities and their families to ensure their needs, rights and aspirations are met.  We are a multi-project service provider whose needs-led activities have developed as a result of listening to the people we support and we are proud of our reputation as the primary campaigning organisation for people with learning disabilities in Harrow.

Harrow Volunteer Centre
Harrow Volunteer Centre operates as a placement agency for adults and young people living and working in Harrow who wish to undertake voluntary work.

Association for Somali Disabled People in Harrow & Hillingdon

London Kalibari

Middlesex Association for the Blind
Middlesex Association for the Blind support people who are blind, partially sighted or deafblind to overcome the increased difficulties created through sight loss.

Mind in Harrow
Mind in Harrow works for a better quality of life for people living in Harrow who are experiencing mental health problems.  

RELATE
Relate provide a consultation with a counsellor, relationship counselling, Family Mediation, Psychosexual therapy, Family Counselling & life skills training and education.

Solid Surf 
Solid Surf is the Harrow Skatepark user group. They aim to work with the council to maintain a safe vibrant .

Somali Family Support Group (SFSG)
SFSG is a non-profit organisation that attempts to respond to the health and social needs of refugee/immigrant families. SFSG works with women and young people to empower them and raise their confidence so they can become leaders within their community.

Welldon Activity Group
Welldon Activities Group is a Day Care Centre, meeting the needs of the local community by providing our members (who are disadvantaged through emotional, physical or learning disabilities) with a safe and happy environment that respects their rights, needs and dignity.

Wish Centre 
The Wish centre Supports women, young people and children who are at risk or have experienced violence, abuse, neglect or self harm through advice, counselling and support.

Harrow Humanist Association
Harrow Humanist Society provides fellowship with like minded people and criticises the irrationalities of traditional religions.

Why should your VCO join the Harrow Consortium?

  • Sharing knowledge and experience.
  • Pooling resources.
  • Responding to and shaping regional and national policy agendas.
  • Participation in the creation of sector wide strategy for VCO's.
  • Harrow Consortium can help build the capacity of your organisation to deliver services to the community.  

Who can join?

Any VCO working with the community in Harrow can apply to join the Harrow Consortium. For more information download the Membership of Harrow Consortium document. To join please download the membership form, complete and send along with relevant documents to HAVS (see contact details below).
