Harrow People

Have your say ... influence Service development ...make a real difference!

Harrow is a diverse borough and our residents and service users come from different backgrounds and have varying needs. Understanding our communities, their particular needs and requirements and translating them into service delivery is central for local government, its staff and elected members. In order to ensure we understand these needs and develop services which are fair and accessible, Harrow Council would like to encourage residents and service users to help develop our Single Equalities Scheme (SES).

Our SES will be an important document for the council which will identify key objectives and inform a three year action plan to promote equality and diversity, eliminate discrimination and to ensure our services are fair, equal and accessible. This means for the people who use our services and the people who deliver those services – for everyone in Harrow.

We are therefore encouraging our residents and service users to help influence and develop our SES by taking part in a short survey. Please visit our website www.harrow.gov.uk/consultations  to participate in the survey, the consultation closes on 11 April 2010.

If you would like the questionnaire in hard copy or large print, have any queries about the SES or equalities in general, please contact the Council’s Equalities Officer on 0208 424 1322 or e-mail equalities@harrow.gov.uk
